Tubby Smith, coach of UK’s 1998 national champions, chatted with Terry Meiners at the Louisville Sports Commission’s inaugural Louisville Legends golf tournament at Hurstbourne Country Club.  Tubby and Terry always share stories about their massive families of origin.  Terry is #5 of 14 Meiners siblings, and Tubby is #6 of the Smith family’s 17 children.  (photo: Mike Noland, May 21, 2012)

Terry “Larry MInner” Meiners and Joe “The Beasman” Hall laugh it up at the Louisville Sports Commission’s 1st ever Legends Golf Tournament at Hurstbourne Country Club.  Hall coached the Kentucky Wildcats to the 1978 NCAA men’s basketball national championship.  For the past 27 years, Meiners has parodied Hall as a radio call-in character who brags about UK and slams arch-rival Louisville.  One day in the 90s. the real Joe Hall walked into Meiners’ WHAS radio studio, was introduced, and stood silent at a microphone for an uncomfortable amount of time.  He then walked out without making a sound.  (photo: Travis Dosker, May 21, 2012)
